The exposure is due south and the location provides great protection from the winter & spring outflow winds. There are natural water sources on the property and the remains of an old homestead. The upland topography is extremely user-friendly for the region in addition to the extensive low-bank frontage the grade up towards the rear of the property is mixed – yet relatively moderate. The property is also nicely treed and includes a reasonably large percentage of merchantable mature conifers and includes some very large alder.

Self-sufficiency with respect to establishing some essential requirements would be relatively easy in this location. There are three small streams/creeks that come down through the property. Two are located towards the western end of the property and one is located in the center of the acreage. They appear to be year-round sources of water for domestic consumption and to generate power. The direct southern exposure will provide for an excellent source of solar power.

The property has a long history with the current owners. If you look carefully you can find the remains of the old homestead towards the west between the two streams. Over towards the eastern shoreline stands an A-frame cabin that does need a little tlc, however could be made very useable with a little work. Surrounding this cabin is the old orchard, which used to have approximately 20 fruit trees.

This pristine and remote location provides peaceful and beautiful surroundings unlike anywhere else on the coast. The region is abundant with a large variety of wildlife and the sea life is equally plentiful. Crab and prawns can be gathered right off shore and a neighbouring creek just east of the property is home to resident Coho and sea-run Cutthroat. Although fin fishing is restricted in the immediate area – just south to the Orford River one can enjoy world-class Salmon fishing. Just north to the head of the inlet are the Homalthco and Southgate rivers. Both of which provide world-class fishing for Cutthroat, Rainbow and Dolly Varden Trout as well as Steelhead.
