Bute Inlet BC DL 1975

This forested 47 acre property is located 25 miles up Bute Inlet on the western shoreline just south of Mellersh Pt. Historically this was the site of an old logging camp. The property has a nice level area along the shoreline and then rises moderately towards the back of the property. There is approximately 1740 feet of ocean frontage and the acreage has a depth of 1440 feet.

An excellent natural feature of the property is Mellersh Creek, which flows through the property. There is a water license for this creek which not only supplies domestic water but would be more than adequate to generate hydro electric power. This is a substantial water source that originates from one of the alpine lakes above and appears to be year round.

As this is the site of an old logging camp, there is a significant logging road that makes its way up through the property and provides access to the heart of some of B.C.’s most beautiful and rugged wilderness; literally miles and miles of territory to explore for outdoor enthusiasts.

This location also provides immediate access to some of the best and world class salt water and freshwater systems that are hosts not only to runs of salmon but freshwater species such as sea run Cutthroat and Dolly Varden trout as well as Steelhead. Mainland and marine wildlife of all types are throughout this area.

The setting is nothing short of breathtaking; from the deep cold waters that transform from dark blue to glacial green with the spring runoffs. This majestic fjord is surrounded by phenomenal mountain ranges. From the property you get a direct view of the glacial and snowcapped 8740 foot peak of Mt. Sir Francis Drake.

There is a classic old one bedroom camp house located at the ocean side. This is an older structure however, certainly functional in all respects as a wilderness cabin and retreat. All basic items will be included. Access is by boat or float plane.
